Athyrium ‘Ocean's Fury’ PPAF

This new deciduous fern has an upright habit, with an unusual combination of fronds that are crested at the tips and also lightly silvered. A unique hybrid of the Japanese Painted Fern and the Crested Lady Fern, Athyrium ‘Ocean’s Fury’ is a wonderful addition to the shade or woodland garden. Vigorous and strong growth habit.

Uses

Ideal massed or as a specimen in the shady border. It is also excellent for fresh cut foliage.

Cultivation

Thrives in part to full shade in rich, average to moist soil with a neutral to moderately acidic pH. Leaving the old fronds on the plant over the winter will protect the crowns and tender shoots in spring. Remove them when the emerging fronds reach 15 cm tall. Not appealing to rabbits.
