Dryopteris filix-mas ‘Parsley’
|
This attractive new Male Fern has a particularly congested form, with dark green crinkled fronds somewhat resembling parsley. Maturing quickly compared to other ferns, the Male Fern is a vigorous grower that is robust in stature, but remains in a clump rather than spreading by runners. Even young plants exhibit the crinkling and cresting.
Uses Ideal massed or as a specimen in the shady border. It is also excellent for fresh cut foliage. Cultivation Thrives in neutral to acidic, richly organic soil and light to full shade. Preferring moist sites, this fern will tolerate moderate drought once established. Unappealing to rabbits or deer.
