Heuchera ‘Blackout’ PPAF

This introduction is blacker than Heuchera ‘Obsidian’ and reputed to be a more vigorous grower. Cream flowers appear in June and last for weeks, contrasting beautifully with its glossy dark leaves with perfectly rounded lobes. H. ‘Blackout’ forms a tight, compact mound that looks great as edging or in containers.

Uses

Grow massed as an edger, or as a specimen in the front of the border, in the rock garden, in the woodland, or in a container. Leaves and flowers can be cut for arrangements. Attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies.

Cultivation

Grows best in rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to full shade. Provide adequate moisture in full sun. Divide clumps every 3 to 4 years. Resistant to pests and diseases, and not usually appealing to deer.
