Hosta ‘Komodo Dragon’
|
A large, sensational clump is formed by this recent introduction. Its grey-green, pointed leaves have a beautiful, loosely pie-crusted edge and stretch out to form a giant 2.1 m wide plant. Pale lavender flowers on stems 1.2 m tall top the upright clump in midsummer. This awe inspiring plant needs plenty of room!
Uses Use as specimen at the back of partly shady borders, open woodland gardens or near water. Both flowers and leaves are attractive in flower arrangements. Attracts hummingbirds. Cultivation Plant in light shade in rich, well-drained soil that is average to moist. Fairly tolerant of dry soils once established. This plant demonstrates good resistance to slugs, and is not usually a favourite with rabbits.
