Lathyrus vernus ‘Albo-Roseus’

A lesser-known ornamental sweet pea for the flower garden, Lathyrus vernus forms a dense mound of attractive foliage. L. ‘Albo-Roseus’ produces lovely rose-white flowers above its light green leaves in late spring to early summer. The handsome foliage lasts through the whole growing season, adding to the textures of the woodland garden. It remains disease free and sturdy even in dry shade.

Uses

Use in borders, rock gardens, in open woodlands or on slopes.

Cultivation

Easy to grow in full sun to part shade, in any well-drained soil. Drought tolerant. Not usually bothered by insects or disease. This clumping plant may seed around the garden but is not aggressive and seedlings will be welcome.
