Hemerocallis ‘Bold Tiger’
|
Fragrant! Waking up the garden in midsummer, these extremely bright orange Daylily blooms have a bold red eyezone and a green throat. They are dramatically recurved with nicely ruffled edges, and over 10 cm wide. Tetraploid Hemerocallis ‘Bold Tiger’ is also an excellent grower with strong, well-branched scapes and lots of buds. A very long bloomer!
Uses Use in borders, as a specimen or massed. Daylilies can survive harsh conditions such as polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils and near pavement that is salted in winter. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Can be cut for floral arrangements. Cultivation Prefers full sun to light shade in average to moist, rich soil. Although tough and drought tolerant, this plant appreciates deep watering in dry spells. Divide every four to five years for best bloom. Not usually bothered by pests or diseases, nor favoured by rabbits.
