Hemerocallis ‘Prairie Wildfire’

Known for its prolific bloom performance, Hemerocallis ‘Prairie Wildfire’ sets the garden afire in summer! A high bud count ensures many blooms. The large 12 cm flowers are a rich red with a contrasting bright yellow throat and lightly recurved petals with finely ruffled edges. For an added bonus, the blooms of this dormant tetraploid Daylily have a delicate fragrance.
Uses Use in borders, as a specimen or massed. Daylilies can survive harsh conditions such as polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils and near pavement that is salted in winter. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Can be cut for floral arrangements. Cultivation Prefers full sun to light shade in average to moist, rich soil. Although tough and drought tolerant, this plant appreciates deep watering in dry spells. Divide every four to five years for best bloom. Not usually bothered by pests or diseases, nor favoured by rabbits.
